Mission and Principles
Mission
In the tradition of Unitarian
Universalists who came before us, we the youth and adults of the Unitarian
Universalist Church of Greeley, strive to be caring, religious community which
encourages and supports the sharing of ideas and experiences of all who travel
rich and varied spiritual paths. We united in faith and reason to challenge
injustice and to practice compassionate social action. We embrace diversity and
celebrate the interdependence of all life. We seek the wisdom and courage to be
grounded in our seven principles to guide us on our journey of life-long
learning.
Principles
We, the member
congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association, covenant to affirm and
promote:
1. Inherent worth and dignity of every person. 2. Justice,
equality and compassion in human relationships. 3. Acceptance of one another
and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations. 4. A free and
responsible search for truth and meaning. 5. The right of conscience and the
use of democratic process within our congregations and in society at
large. 6. The goal of world community with peace, liberty and justice for
all. 7. Respect for the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a
part.
